What’s New in Twindo: Product Updates May 2026

We’re always working to keep your deliverables up to date and your workflow running smoothly. Here’s a look at what’s new, from a SketchUp version upgrade to expanded tools for keeping your project documentation in one place.

1) Expanded Spatial Assets formats for your documentation needs

Project details are too often scattered — photos on someone’s camera roll, a shared folder that actually isn’t shared, sticky notes that don’t survive the trip back to the office.

With Spatial Assets, you can attach photos, notes, CAD/BIM files, and PDFs directly to your Twindo projects so everything lives exactly where you need it, accessible across devices, whether you’re in the field or at the office.

Expanded supported file types include:

Spatial Assets is included in all memberships.

2) Take photos while scanning

You can now tap the new camera button while scanning to capture photos of your space. Your photos are automatically saved as Spatial Assets in your project.

While we know the power of a 3D model, we also appreciate the usefulness of a quality photo. With the new photo capture feature, you get both. And you don’t even need to do an additional walkthrough to capture photos.

3) Twindo now delivers all SketchUp files in SketchUp 2025

Twindo now delivers all SketchUp files in SketchUp 2025. This upgrade keeps us current with Trimble’s latest supported version and ensures your deliverables meet up-to-date standards. Your files will be automatically compatible down to SketchUp 2021 and no action is needed for most users.

On an even older version? We’ll continue to honor requests to downsave to an earlier version through May 31st. Just reach out with which version you’d like in the reference measurements section after placing your order and we’ll take care of it.

If you plan on using an older SketchUp version after May 31st, we recommend the Eneroth Open Newer Version extension as a long-term workaround for opening files created in newer versions of SketchUp. Please note this is just a suggested workaround and Twindo is not associated with Eneroth.
