Canvas Is Now Twindo

by Sarah Bird in Blog

Same trust. More clarity. Even more capability.

Canvas is now Twindo. And it’s way more than just a new name. It’s an expanded, more powerful platform built for how teams actually work with spaces today.

Twindo brings together everything professionals need to understand the spaces they design, build, and manage, without extra site visits or second-guessing. With a quick scan or plan upload, any space becomes structured, accurate, design-ready data your whole team can actually use.

If you’re coming from Canvas, don’t worry. Your projects are still intact. The workflows still work. What’s changed is what the platform can do and how clearly the name reflects it.

Why the change?

Because the product didn’t just mature. It expanded. Big time.

What started as a powerful way to capture and model spaces has grown into a spatial intelligence platform teams rely on across design, construction, and operations. A platform that connects scans, plans, photos, files, and field notes into one shared, usable view of a space.

At that point, the old name stopped telling the full story. Twindo does.

(Also, we have a slicker look. Not that we weren’t cute before… but we cleaned up nice.)

The shift Twindo enables

Most teams still depend on physical site visits to answer everyday questions.

You measure. You photograph. You jot things down. You have 4 espressos. Then you recheck everything 3 times and hope nothing important slipped through the cracks. And that’s all before you start modeling.

Even with digital tools in place, information still ends up scattered. Photos in one folder. Measurements in another. Notes that only make sense in hindsight. Nothing feels complete. And nothing feels fully reliable.

Twindo starts from a different assumption. What if understanding a space didn’t require being there every time?

With a quick scan or a simple plan upload, Twindo turns any space into actionable spatial data. Accurate measurements. Clean floor plans. Intelligent, design-ready models teams can actually work from.

Instead of juggling fragmented documentation, you get a true digital twin of the space. One shared view that replaces guesswork and follow-up questions. And those “just to be safe” site visits that drain time and energy.

Once that clarity exists, everything moves faster. Decisions happen sooner. Teams stay aligned more closely. And surprises (and the resulting freakouts) are no more.

One platform. One shared source of truth.

As our platform expanded, something else became clear. Teams don’t just need capture. They need continuity.

Twindo brings spatial data into one centralized place for each project (photos, files, PDFs, field notes). So every space becomes a trusted digital reference you can return to and build from.

Design teams. Construction partners. Clients. Operators. Subcontractors. Everyone’s working from the same understanding of the space. No debating whose measurements are right. No stitching together memory, notes, and screenshots. Just one shared source of truth that carries through every phase of a project.

That clarity reduces mistakes. It speeds up handoffs. And it makes collaboration feel calmer, more confident, and frankly, more human.

So… why Twindo? (And how do I pronounce it anyway?)

First things first: it’s pronounced twin-doh. Rhymes with window.

Now the why.

At the center of the platform is the idea of the digital twin: a reliable digital version of a real space that teams can return to, trust, and build from over time.

Twindo reflects that expanded role. It’s not just about measuring and modeling what exists. It’s about giving teams a shared digital reference they can use across projects, across teams, and across phases of work. A clearer way to connect people to spaces without needing to be there every time.

The name is easier to say. Easier to remember. But more importantly, it reflects where the platform is now and what it’s built to enable next.

Existing customers: we’ve got your back

If you’re already a Canvas customer, here’s the quick version: Nothing’s going away. Your scans, projects, and workflows are all still here. There’s no migration. No retraining. No disruption.

You’ll start seeing the Twindo name across the product, website, and communications. And you’ll see more powerful ways to use the data you already trust: including the ability to invite anyone to capture a space, with no training or specialty tools required.
